About this course
Spanish course B1 – Intermediate. The Spanish Language School of the University of Salamanca in Strasbourg is a world reference in teaching Spanish. The content of our Spanish courses in Strasbourg is based on the structure of language skills proposed by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and by the Cervantes Institute.
In the following table you can see how Spanish levels are structured according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and according to ELE USAL Strasbourg in compliance with this European standard. At ELE USAL Strasbourg, we have divided each of these reference levels into 2 additional sub-levels. This reorganization enables the development of the student’s communicative skills in a much more effective and conscious way, and it enables us to guide each student towards the course best adapted to their Spanish level.
Each session includes 30 hours to make you reach the targeted level, the training lasts 15 weeks, 2 hours one day a week. Moreover, we take into account school holidays so that you can rest and you don’t miss any class.
You want to communicate in areas of personal interest, understand discussions on various topics and increase your knowledge of Hispanic countries?
METHODOLOGY
The B1 Spanish courses (intermediate) at ELE USAL Strasbourg will enable you to have enough linguistic and non-linguistic resources to get by in different social situations since you will know the necessary vocabulary, the linguistic structures and methods that will allow you to tackle various daily topics such as family, work, taste and interests, travel and current events. In addition, you will develop strategies to explain the main lines of an idea or a problem, to express feelings and opinions on an abstract or cultural topic, in speaking or in writing.
With the Spanish course at B1 level (intermediate), it is important to specify that you will deal with authentic texts produced by native speakers with a standard language level. You will be able to manage with the official documents of everyday life, to extract specific information after reading or listening to these texts and to use it in order to complete a concrete task. Moreover, you will be capable of debating written or TV news.
Step by step, you will be able to deal with increasingly long audio (movie, documentary, series, etc.) and to understand the topic, the important ideas, etc.
For all our courses, we offer at the end of each period an official certificate from the Spanish Language Schools of the University of Salamanca with the number of hours that have been carried out and the level that has been worked on.
SKILLS AND EXPECTATIONS ASSESSMENT
ELE USAL Strasbourg assesses students’ level in a personalised way so that they can take the course best adapted to their needs.
If you have already studied Spanish, but not at ELE USAL Strasbourg, we have to assess your skills and needs. However, complete beginners, students who have already taken courses with us during the past year and those who have already taken the level test less than 6 months ago are exempted from this requirement.
The level test is made up of two parts: a written test and an oral test.
First, you must complete the written test, and then you can choose the date and time for the oral test, which can be taken by phone or take place directly in our centre.
