METHODOLOGY

Our Spanish courses in Strasbourg follow a methodology centered on the development of the student’s communicative skills and seek to lead you towards an intercultural learning process to make you discover the Hispanic world, its variety, its plurality and its richness.

The goal is that you learn how to communicate in Spanish in a Hispanic context: living in a Spanish-speaking country, studying at a Spanish-speaking country university, working in a company, etc. Going beyond structures and knowing the tools to live in a Hispanic setting. In general, when it comes to learning Spanish, the most difficult is to speak and to understand what people say. We are aware of that and we get you prepared accordingly.

Therefore, groups are formed according to people’s needs and the courses focus on oral and written communication as well as listening and reading comprehension. Each session includes 30 hours to make you reach the targeted level, the training lasts 15 weeks, 2 hours one day a week.

First of all, we will invite you to have a short interview with our academic director to help you identify your needs and goals so that we can guide you to the group that best suits you. Moreover, you will always have the chance to meet up with our academic director during your training to review your progress and your updated needs.

The courses offered in our center range from beginner level, A1-1, to B2 level. The complete course includes 270 hours of training. At the end of each 30-hour training, the teacher offers the student an assessment of their level and suggests moving on to the next level or further strengthening the level in progress.

We insist on talking and listening. Thus, classes are taught exclusively in Spanish so this immersive context will allow you to learn faster! At the end of the course, the student will obtain an official course attendance certificate from the Spanish Language Schools of the University of Salamanca

This is the usual path of the Spanish Language School ELE USAL Strasbourg:

Students are assessed throughout the course by completing activities at the end of each unit. It is necessary to attend at least 80% of the lessons in order to obtain a certificate of attendance.

At our school, we work with our own materials and with the following textbooks:

The choice of the textbook depends on the profile of the group. One week before the course starts, the student will be informed of the textbook that will be used in class. The course fee does not include the textbook.

SKILLS AND EXPECTATIONS ASSESSMENT

ELE USAL Strasbourg assesses students’ level in a personalised way so that they can take the course best adapted to their needs.

If you have already studied Spanish, but not at ELE USAL Strasbourg, we have to assess your skills and needs. However, complete beginners, students who have already taken courses with us during the past year and those who have already taken the level test less than 6 months ago are exempted from this requirement.

The level test is made up of two parts: a written test and an oral test.

First, you must complete the written test, and then you can choose the date and time for the oral test, which can be taken by phone or take place directly in our centre.

– For the oral test (by phone or in our centre), you must fix an appointment with us by contacting the following address in**@st****************.com

The levels of our Spanish courses, at ELE USAL Strasbourg, are consistent with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

IMPORTANT: ELE USAL Strasbourg does not provide any certificate nor document at the end of a level test. This test does not serve as certification and cannot validate any language proficiency level. The result remains private and enables the student to join the course best adapted to his/her level. If the student wishes to certify his/her Spanish level, he/she has to take the DELE or SIELE exam, which are the two certification systems that ELE USAL Strasbourg offers.
